2018 Distinctive Small Lot Merlot Barrel Select

The 2018 vintage was challenging and full of dashed hopes. The summer weather was superb, leading to projections this would be one of the best vintages on record. Then with September came rain, lots of rain at a time when it is least desirable particularly for red wines. Winemaker Marc Bradshaw took a patient route, leaving the grapes to hang on the vines until late October and selected four specific barrels to make this intriguing blend.
