Winemaker Marc Bradshaw set out to craft a Gewurztraminer that differed from the classic style of over the top perfume, floral and spice. We think he hit it out of the park with our Distinctive Small Lot Gewurztraminer Divergent (Divergent meaning 'tending to be different'). This is a Gewurztraminer with finesse, more dominant fruit and more subdued spice notes.

Tasting Notes
Fruity and spicy. Aromas and flavours of lilies, honeysuckle, lychee, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and a touch of white pepper. Crisp acidity spicy finish. Best serving temperature 10 to 12 C.
Winemaker Notes
Produced from grapes harvested from Strewn’s Home Farm vineyard, 24th October, 2018 at an exuberant 25 Brix. The fruit was allowed to sit on skins overnight prior to pressing. The juice was inoculated using a specialty yeast at cooler temperatures in a stainless steel tank til the fermentation ceased at a final residual sugar of 5.6 g/L and 15.1 % alcoholic content. While this Gewurztraminer shows bold tropical notes with lovely spice with a desirable pithiness, it also shows restraint allowing an elegance to shine through without the alcohol appearing overt. The wine was cold and heat stabilized before being bottled through a sterile filter under screw cap.
Food Pairing Notes
Dishes with a little heat including Indian curries and shrimp or chicken jambalaya, and recipes with caramelized onions.
