Tasting Notes
Aromas of ripe raspberry and cherry with floral and spice notes. Flavours of fresh cherries and bramble berries with a light touch of oak mix with the slightest hint of sweetness.
Winemaker Notes
The fruit - Cabernet Franc generally first, followed by the Cabernet Sauvignon - arrives in several lots in the latter part of the harvest season. Some is crushed to small open-top bins where that are “punched down” manually to help extract more of the aromas, flavours and colour from the skins. The rest goes into red fermenting tanks where the “pump over” method of regularly wetting the skins produces a gentle extraction with few harsh elements. Following fermentation and pressing, the wine settles in tanks for a few weeks and is then transferred to mostly seasoned, older barrels which help soften the wine over the next few months before it is filtered and bottled.

A versatile wine that can be enjoyed with many kinds of meat and tomato dishes from tourtieres to meatball subs to Bolognese pastas. A perfect wine for he barbecue: hamburgers, ribs and steaks.

As far as Cab Franc/Sav are concerned, this is your go to. I have had others and in a US ban of California wine I was experiencing different Niagara, Ontario wines. In comes Rouge Lot. I think I have become the poster boy for this beautiful airy blend. I have sent it as gifts to friend all over the world and they love it. I have brought this to a number of dinner parties and everyone has had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. I have even converted some of the devout. Sometimes a lower price point doesn't mean bad quality. If you are new to wine this will be your entrance into flavour town. Best consumed very slightly chilled, with no raw backlash to the tongue, this gem is a great pairing to a good friends with most meals and a game or great conversation. Great job Strewn.
