Strewn's Home Farm vineyard is carefully tended to produce top-quality grapes. A small portion of the Cabernet Sauvignon block is on sandy soil while the rest is on clay. Each year, starting with the 2014 vintage, Strewn's winemaking team makes about 100 cases of Cabernet Sauvignons "Sandy" and the same amount of "Clay". The grapes are hand-picked on the same day, fermented with the same yeast and aged in barrels with the same toast from the same cooperage. Yet with all these commonalities, the wines are significantly different in flavour and aroma.

Winemaker Notes
The Strewn Home Farm vineyard comprises two distinct soil types – clay and sandy. The sandy soil allows for more aromatic wines with greater elegance on the palate. After fermentation in small stainless steel bins with malo-lactic fermentation, the wine was pressed then aged in French, American and Canadian oak barrels for a period of 19 months. 4 barrels for specially selected for blending with bottling was undertaken after pad filtration.
