Viognier is a bit of a sleeper grape variety, which at one time was considered to be the next cult wine. While it hasn't yet taken off in a big way, Viognier is a low-yielding variety that is recognised for its abundant peach and nectarine aromas and flavours. Strewn's 2017 vintage is dry, full-bodied and definitely aromatic.
A combination of aromas and flavours of roses, peach, apricot, anise, gingerbread and honeysuckle. Vibrant acidity produces a long and pleasant finish on the palate palate. Best Serving Temperature 7° to 10° C.
Produced from fruit harvested 20th October, 2017 from a Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyard at 22.1oBx. Fermented in stainless steel and sterile filtered before bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
A lovely match with Thai dishes, including fresh Mango Salad and Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp.
