Tasting Notes
The bouquet is soft and alluring with aromas of red currant, raspberry, black cherry, and cassis alongside notes of spice. The palate is plush and inviting with ripe red berries, cherry compote and raspberry preserves supported by voluminous silky tannins and a mouth coating texture that provides a lovely weight, finishing round and sumptuous.

Winemaker Notes
Always a passionate varietal for Strewn, with the outstanding vintage of 2016 yielding opulent flavours in our Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested 18th November, 2016 from the Home Farm located in Niagara-on-the-Lake at 26.2o and 26o Brix, from both the sandy and clay portions of the vineyard respectively, with 2 barrels selected from the reputable Willms vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake picked 7th November, 2016 at 25.5o Brix. The juice underwent primary in small open bins with daily pigéage, followed by malo-lactic fermentation before maturation over a period of 20 months in French (66%), American (17%) and Canadian (17%) oak barrels, of which just over half were seasoned barriques. A 12 barrel assemblage which exhibits the intensity of this esteemed varietal with the elegance of well-integrated tannins. An age-worthy wine from a celebrated growing season, which will age gracefully.
