The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from our Premium line has beautiful, complex aromas and flavours and a smooth palate. It can be enjoyed now and for the next few years. A perfect match with grilled meat dishes with beef or lamb.
Complex aromas of plums, cherries and blueberries mix with savoury leather, spice, oak, licorice and chocolate. The palate is smooth and flavourful leading to a gentle tannin grip and a refreshing finish.
An assemblage of 11 barrels, nine from fruit harvested 28th October from a bench vineyard, with one barrel each from the Home Farm’s clay and sandy blocks, picked 18th November 2016, with a weighted average of 24.2 Bx. Fermentation was undertaken in small stainless steel bins with malo-lactic fermentation, with the wines pressed to seasoned French and American oak barrels for a period of 15 months. Bottling was undertaken after pad filtration.
