Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Earthy and fruity. A multitude of aromas and flavours, including blackberries, black cherries, plums, prunes, black tea, eucalyptus, leather, coffee, tobacco and vanilla. A flavourful mouth feel at the end with nice acidity, smooth and firm tannins. Best serving temperature 16 to 19 C.
Winemaker Notes
The Strewn Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard comprises two distinct soil types – clay and sandy. Clay soils tend to retain water and nutrients allowing bolder wines with greater minerality on the palate. Hand-harvested fruit was fermented in small stainless steel bins to increase the extraction of fruit flavours. Matured in 3 French Oak and 1 American Oak barrels for 20 months then bottled with minimal treatment to retain the true fruit qualities. Bottles were laid down prior to release to allow greater integration and development of the wine.
Food Pairing Notes
Beef - roasts, stews and Wellington; 8 to 10 year old cheddar

Fantastic wine, pairs well with pasta, pizza and meat....we also enjoy it on it's own, but most defiantly have cheese and crackers to bring out the body in this special edition. Juan, first gave me a sample in July, I have since joined the WineClub and have a case on order....
