A food friendly wine with a very well balanced finish on the palate. Flavours of violets, plum, ripe strawberries, blackberries, vanilla, toasty oak, mocha, coffee, dark chocolate and leather, which harmonize perfectly with its acidity and smooth tannins. Best serving temperature 16 - 19 C.
The extended sunshine hours of the 2012 vintage ensured a rich ripeness with generous flavours for all Bordeaux varietals as the 2012 Merlot so stylishly displays. Harvested from a single vineyard situated in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the fruit was crushed for ferment and subsequent maturation in primarily seasoned American oak for a period of 15 months. An eight barrel blend was assembled prior to minimal filtration to the bottling line to retain the lavish richness of the wine. An exceptional wine from a renowned vintage which while drinking stellar now will perform well into the future.
