Tasting Notes
Mature, earthy, spicy with a unique combination of aromas and flavours. Plums, ripe strawberries, blackberries, black cherries, vanilla, tobacco, leather, mocha, dark chocolate and hay. A very long, smooth and complex finish on the palate. Best Serving temperature: 16-19C.
Winemaker Notes
The 2010 Merlot Terroir was produced in a remarkable vintage from fruit grown totally in the Niagara-on-the-Lake sub-appellation. Post fermentation the wine was matured in oak for an extended period of 20 months after which a 14 barrel assemblage was blended. Course filtration to the bottle ensured the wine remains true to its generous fruit nature created by prolonged and exceptional sunshine hours during and post-veraison. A wine which is showing grace while continuing to evolve in bottle.
