Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Lovely aromas of red cherry and blackberries combined with those of sweet vanilla, perfume and baking-spice. The wonderfully smooth palate highlights red and dark fruits interplay with subtle nuances of coffee and mocha. These flavours are carried onto a lingering, refreshing finish. Drinking very well now.
Best serving temperatures 13 - 16C.
Winemaker Notes
Four separate vineyard blocks were harvested the third week of October, 2018 with Brix between 22.8 to 25.3. The grapes were crushed and fermented as separate lots in a traditional manner - open-top bins with daily punch down of the cap. After extended maceration, the grapes were pressed and the wine was allowed to settle before transfer to a mix of mostly seasoned oak barrels with a scattering of new oak. The wine aged in barrel for nearly a year then a selection was made for assemblage and clarification prior to bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
Enjoy on its own or with lighter meat dishes or vegetarian fare.
