The 2017 LIMITED Merlot Barrel Fermented should easily cellar for eight to 10 years, and we recommend you allow it to rest for two to three years before drinking to maximize your enjoyment.
We let the Home Farm fruit hang on the vines as long as possible, and it came in exceptionally ripe at 25.8°Brix. The wine was fermented in open barrels to maximize extraction and concentration. Then after aging in barrel for 15 months, I chose three barrels to blend - two new American oak and one seasoned French oak barrel - that showed the dried bramble nuances of late harvested fruit, integrated with a solid tannic structure.
