In Stock
Meritage is a regulated term for wines made from two or more "noble" Bordeaux grape varieties (no single variety can make up moer than 90% of tthe blend). To give our Meritage (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon) a local twist, the wine is aged exclusively in Canadian oak barrels.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Crisp acidity balances with aromas and flavours of flowers (violets, carnations), berries, black cherries, herbal notes (flint, crushed rock, black pepper, black tea, menthol), mocha and dark chocolate, leather, tobacco, and toasty oak. The finish is long and smooth. Best Serving Temperature 16° to 19° C.
Winemaker Notes
This eight barrel blend is 50% Merlot, 25% each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Canadian oak barrels were primarily one and two years old and the wine remained in oak for 17 months.
Food Pairing Notes
The gentle astringency would go well with a leaner cut of beef, such as filet mignon (tenderloin) or sirloin, and complement the clean, ripe fruit with a fruit-based sauce.
