Strewn NewsMaking noise on the international scene!Strewn received gold, silver and bronze awards at two major international shows this spring -- Citadelles du Vin, Vinexpo in France, and Concours Mondial in Brussels. In the French competition, our 2002 Vidal Icewine was a Gold winner, and the 2002 Riesling Icewine received a Bronze. In Brussels, the 2002 Riesling Icewine received a Gold and our 2002 Chardonnay French Oak brought home a Silver. All Canadian Wine Championships 2004 Best of CategoryBoy did those judges at the All Canadian Wine Championships in Windsor like our 2001 Merlot Terroir! It won a gold medal and was ranked Best of Category for Merlot and Bordeaux Reds (it was also a winner at the Toronto Wine & Cheese Show see below). And the 2001 Chardonnay Terroir Strewn Vineyard won a Silver. Strewn strikes Gold at the 2004 Toronto Wine & Cheese Show!We're proud recipients of four medals at the Toronto Wine & Cheese Show held March 12-14. The Strewn 1999 Vidal Icewine was awarded a Gold for Sweet Wines over $30. The wine is available in the wine store at Strewn (and through our online store) at $45 for a 375 mL bottle. Two of our wonderful Merlots took home medals. The 2001 Merlot Terroir was awarded a Silver for Red Table Wines ($13 to under $25) and the Strewn 2002 Merlot was awarded a Bronze medal (no golds were given in this category). Finally our delightful 2002 Semi Dry Riesling (available in the LCBO) won a Bronze in the White Table Wine Under $13 category. Ontario Wine Awards 2004The Ontario Wine Awards were founded nine years ago by Tony Aspler, one of Canada's most well-recognized and educated wine writers. This year the award ceremony moved from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake and in are own backyard, Strewn received two medals. The wonderful 1999 Strewn Three won a Silver Medal and the 2002 Chardonnay French Oak received a Bronze medal. |
