21 STOCKING DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
We invite you to visit Strewn in December for 21 special days of tasting as we dust off an exclusive selection of wines available only at our cellar doors. Strewn is featuring our Chardonnay 2006 Amalgam Terroir. This delightfully creamy, smooth wine is an ‘amalgam’ – assembled from Chardonnay in specially selected French and American oak barrels. Not only is it a personal favourite of winemaker Joe Will but fewer than 30 cases are left. Available at the winery only.

TERROIR BAR WINE & FOOD MATCHING
Come in from the cold and sample a hot, creamy Harvest Vegetable & Salmon Chowder with an Icewine drizzle and tea biscuit. Paired with Strewn’s award-winning Vidal Icewine, this combo will warm your heart and please your palate. Available 10 am to 5:30 pm. Cost $10. NIAGARA ICEWINE SHAKE
Every year we here people love Icewine poured over ice cream. We’ve taken a good idea and made it better and developed a thick, creamy Icewine Shake for adults only! Available daily in January between 10:00 am and 5:30 pm at the Main Tasting Bar; $5 (4-oz serving).

"The Cozy Kitchen" Cooking Classes
For three Saturdays : January 9, 16 and 23
When winter temperatures drop and drop, the warmth of the kitchen becomes even more appealing. Working with a partner, you will prepare a delicious winter-inspired three-course menu - finishing off with Icewine to celebrate the season! ICE GOLD WINTER HARVEST - HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE
During the Niagara Icewine Festival, you can become part of the Strewn winemaking crew for a truly magical experience. You will help harvest and press Gewurztraminer Icewine grapes and taste the fruits of your labours, followed by a conducted tasting of award-winning Icewines. Maximum 20 people. INSIDE THE WINE Seminar Series: Dessert Wines
The “Inside the Wine” seminar series is a response to requests for in-depth wine tastings -- January's theme is dessert wines ranging from Late Harvest to Icewine. Strewn winemaker Joe Will will conduct the tasting and help you discover the subtle nuances and complexities of some of Niagara’s world-renowned sweet wines. Time: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm (note: the seminar is scheduled for late morning when your palate is sharper). Cost is $25; reservations required. To book your spot, call 905-468-1229.

Join Wine Writer & Educator Linda Bramble for a interactive, educational, entertaining & playfully flirtatious tasting with prizes to boot! Then you will sit down at Terroir La Cachette, the restaurant at Strewn, to explore an array of aphrodisiacs and wine options and why they may or may not pair well together. DAYS OF WINE & CHOCOLATE - Weekends in February
As part of the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake ‘Days of Wine & Chocolate’ touring program, we will be pairing our premium VQA Cabernet Select Late Harvest with a decadent Dark Chocolate with Dried Apricot. Touring Passes are $30 plus tax and include one pairing at each of the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Valid February 6/7, 13/14, 20/21 and 27/28 from 11 am to 5 pm.

TERROIR MONTHLY WINE & FOOD MATCHING
The February wine & food match at the Terroir Bar is Merlot 2006 Terroir and a delicious Flourless Chocolate Cake created by the Wine country Cooking School. The Merlot 2006 Terroir is an elegant wine showing lovely aromas of sweet cherries with a medium body and a light touch of tannin on the finish. Daily 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, $5.

A DECADENT PAIR: A Wine & Chocolate Seminar
Join André Renaud, a member of the Strewn wine-making team as he explains the principles and nuances of matching chocolate - from bittersweet to white - to dry red and sweet white Strewn wines. Chocolate maker Richard Kiermacz, owner of Chocolate Etc, will be on hand with some decadent chocolates for the pairing. Cost is $20 per person plus tax; $15 plus tax for Barrel Club members. Cuvee En Route – We have chosen three excellent examples of Strewn reds from our best vintage! Taste our top-end Terroir Series side by side and explore the differences between our Merlot 2007 Terroir, Cabernet Franc 2007 Terroir, and Cabernet Sauvignon 2007. Available 10 am to 6 pm Daily.
